I had a great experience with Doug and his team. Everyone was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and made safety a priority throughout the entire course. The instructions were clear, the course was well structured, and at no point did I feel unsafe or unsure of what was expected. As a self-taught marksman, this was my first formal firearms class, and I was genuinely impressed by how much I learned and improved in just a few hours. I walked away a more capable and confident marksman, with a better understanding of my skills and areas where I can continue to improve. If you’re considering 2nd Amendment Firearms Academy for your CCW course, you really can’t go wrong with them. The course is designed to give you the instruction, guidance, and feedback you need to succeed. As long as you’re willing to put in the effort, be receptive to feedback, and come in with a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn, they will give you the tools and support you need to be successful. What stood out to me most was that the environment was supportive while still maintaining high standards for safety and proficiency. The goal isn’t simply to get you through the course, but to help you become a safer, more knowledgeable, and more confident marksman. Every time I come here, I learn something new. What I appreciate most is that they don’t just walk you through the requirements—they help you identify things you may have been doing incorrectly without even realizing it, explain why, and show you the right way to do it. I always leave feeling more knowledgeable and confident than when I came in. I really can’t recommend these guys highly enough. This is my second time using 2nd Amendment Firearms Academy. I used them for my initial CCW training and now for my renewal. Just like the first time they kept the class lively, informative and engaging. The classes are always full, which is good, because others students will always have questions you didn’t think about. Once you leave the classroom the instructor on the range are awesome as well. They are super nice, clear and concise and will try to answer all your questions even the ones that may seem silly. Most importantly I love how they double down on safety, repeating the “Don’t do’s” while also providing an additional range assistant to observe and help with safety while the instructor provides initial directions. I just took the initial CCW class over last weekend with 2A Academy.  Great class. Both in the classroom and on the range.  Doug and his team are top notch.  Don't worry about what level shooter you are. Doug and his team will instill the skills and confidence for you to be a competent, safe, and informed shooter.  And like Doug says, continue to train, train, train.  It's our responsibility as CCW holders to represent the firearms community and be good examples of why the 2nd Amendment is so important. Just finished Doug‘s initial training course for CCW. I cannot recommend Doug and his staff enough as they did everything to make sure that we felt comfortable and educated. During our range day, the range instructors made small critiques that were helpful and made me a better marksman by the end of the day. I recently took the CCW class at part of my requirements for my permit. The first day was super informative with discussions, videos, literature, and plenty of chances to ask questions. The next day we did the shooting portion of the course. Very thorough and super safe. And best of all very fun. I got a chance to brush up on old techniques, learned some new techniques, and got really great real-time feedback to further improve my shooting. I have been shooting for over 50 years. The only firearms class I ever attended was a "Hunter Safety class".  I took the 2A class last weekend to qualify for my CCW. It was well worth every penny! There was a lot of emphasis on Firearm Safety. I learned a lot in the different Drills Doug, Ryan and crew had us do which we can not do at the public range such as "Rapid fire".  They were very helpful with improving my grip, trigger finger discipline and how to properly "squeeze" the trigger and not "pull". This past weekend, I attended the 2nd Amendment Firearm Academy to obtain my California CCW. The class was incredibly informative, and the trainers were both awesome and highly professional. Even as the oldest person in the class, I found the experience invaluable. The instructors helped me identify and correct several bad habits I had developed over the last 50 years—proving you really can teach an old dog new tricks! Every instructor was patient and treated me with the utmost respect. You’ll spend a full day shooting and running drills that are full of great information before you do your qualifiers. I was referred to 2A for first time CCW training by a friend and I was super impressed. The didactic 8 hours was well organized and the preparation materials beforehand were great. Training day on the range was the biggest surprise. The instructors were not only knowledgeable, but each one clearly cared about each student. I witnessed them train a new shooter so well that she was able to pass her qualification test. Each student got individualized attention throughout the day. Coming into the 2 day CCW class that is provided here at 2AFA I was a bit nervous, but it changed once we got started with the class. Doug went through all the class material and ensured that we were following through. If you have questions during the class, just ask. They will answer it for you. No need to feel as if there is a question too dumb to ask. They are there to help you with what you need to know. Doug, Ryan, and Ollie were fantastic instructors. Doug and Ryan were who we first meet for the class and then 3 instructors for the second day. It was definitely a great experience. They are very knowledgable and have no problems repeating themselves if need be. They want you to learn and be comfortable with your weapon and handling. The first day was all instructions, basics, and knowing what to expect from the class and how things will be after we get our license. It is a major change but worth it! Ask questions, take time to let the information sink in, and just have fun! This is truly the best course, coming from a beginner. The second day was range day and that is where they test your skill and ability to handle your weapon and able to qualify. Prepare for the adrenaline rush! It was pouring rain for our class but we got it done and we were able to show our knowledge from what was taught. It doesn't stop them from giving us what is needed. They truly mean rain or shine, you will be training. I will definitely be taking the course again for recertification. Thank you so much for the time and attention you guys gave us during the class. I really enjoyed the training while also gaining new skills as well as things to work on moving forward. Had a great CCW Renewal course today with 2A Firearms Academy.  It started with a phone call explaining the class and what to expect, followed up with a detailed email about what to bring.  The class started on time, and was exceptionally well organized.  Clear instructions, short and relevant anecdotes, clear presentation slides, accompanied by a nice set of reference pages with space for note taking. They took the time to point out small mistakes that I didn’t even realize I was making—things that made a big difference in my shooting by the end of the class. You can tell they genuinely care about helping every student improve. This definitely won’t be my last class with 2nd Firearms Academy. Took a First Shots class with Ryan and it was great! He brought out more than a dozen guns for me to try, mostly 9mm semiautomatics because that’s what I was interested in trying to buy, but he also has cool stuff like a Springfield 1911. In 2 hours we got a good understanding of grip, stance, handgun safety and basics like loading the magazine and using optics. Got to narrow down my choices and shoot the ones I really liked again and again until I decided on my final choice. He also let me rapid fire at the end which was really nice. I was extremely impressed that even during this initial session, he was able to diagnose some problems and tell me why I had always been shooting off target. I look forward to training with Ryan more. FYI, the co-owner/contact person Doug is also great and very understanding. I unfortunately had to reschedule very last minute and was able to do that without being charged, which was a huge courtesy on their part that I appreciate. Also, the training is done in a private bay out at United Sportsmen so it’s super professional and comfortable. Finally, Doug and Ryan were able to send me links to the products I needed almost immediately, and I was able to buy a (very out of stock) Walther the same day! 100% recommend especially as a woman who has had a hard time dealing with unfriendly gun stores etc.

I attended the CCW course this weekend.  In a nutshell, it was awesome.     The Range Officers (and there were alot of them) were top-of-the-line competitive shooters, but as nice and supportive as they could be.    Excellent work getting people ready for the CCW quals; greats drills, helpful tips, TONS of shooting, and as safe as it could be. Great experience with the guys at 2nd Amendment!! I’m the type of person who over researches when getting into something new like a CCW and at times I second Guess the places I choose. I can honestly say I made the right decision  going with Doug, Ryan, and the rest of the crew!! These guys are true professionals with what they do. Straight to the point, no down time fillers, with clear teachings and directions. They make for a very comfortable and respectful environment during classroom and on hands training. The class room portion was not boring and was a very informative learning experience. Range time corrected my bad habits. I may be entertaining more additional classes or competition shooting soon. Each day it felt like 8 hours went by without dragging on. It’s tru, You get out what you put into so keep an open mind going in and I assure you will come out seeing things in a new light.
