Our CCW Training approach

Brentwood CCW Training

Instructors work closely with each student during classroom lessons and live range sessions, analyzing performance and running drills to increase precision and correct flaws.

The Richmond Concealed Carry training course is built to help responsible citizens gain the knowledge, discipline, and firearm proficiency required for a concealed weapons permit issued by the Richmond Police Department. This course fulfills the California-mandated 16-hour initial training.

The following topics will be covered in the CCW class, but this is not a comprehensive list as we do our best to tailor the class topics to the needs of the given audience participants.

  • Laws concerning firearms possession, storage, etc.
  • Firearm safety rules
  • Fundamentals of shooting
  • Loading and unloading procedures
  • Clearing stoppages
  • Firearm and holster selection
  • Firearms qualification course

This course is not intended for complete beginners, you must already be comfortable handling your firearm. This is not a basic shooting course. For beginners, we offer a separate pistol fundamentals class—just ask.

16-Hour Initial CCW

The training is approximately 8 hours of classroom work and 8 hours of range time. The time will vary depending on number of students and their ability.  Classes of less than 6 participants will be rescheduled to the next class date.

Cost: $400 + Range Fees

Range fees are $50 per student.  Includes targets, and training completion certificate, copy of The Law of Self Defense (by Andrew Branca.) No extra charge if qualifying with multiple firearms.
