Private Firearms Training

Private Bay Area Firearms Training Classes These private firearms training classes offer you the chance to meet privately with instructors at the range to gain an in-depth diagnosis of areas of improvement. As a student, you will have the benefit of the instructor’s full attention and knowledge. With private or semi-private instruction you will learn more skills and increase your efficiency in a shorter period of time. You'll be surprised at how fast you will become proficient.

Private Firearms Training (1-on-1 Coaching)

Private Firearms Training in the Bay Area

If you want faster progress than a group class can deliver, private training is the shortest path. A private lesson is built around your firearm, your skill level, your goals, and your timeline—with a clear plan to fix what’s holding you back.

Private training is ideal for:

  • Brand-new shooters who want a calm, structured start

  • CCW applicants who want to improve accuracy and confidence before qualification

  • Experienced shooters who want to break through a plateau

  • Anyone who wants coaching on draw stroke, recoil control, speed + accuracy, and decision-making under pressure

You’ll leave with specific corrections, drills that match your needs, and a simple practice plan you can actually follow.

What Private Coaching Does Better Than a Group Class

Group classes are valuable—but they can’t give you continuous, individualized correction. In a private lesson, we can:

  • Diagnose your shooting issues quickly (grip, trigger, recoil, vision, timing)

  • Fix problems at the root instead of “band-aid tips”

  • Adjust pace and difficulty in real time

  • Build repeatable mechanics you can perform under stress

  • Focus on the exact skills you need most (not a general curriculum)

If you’ve ever felt like you “know what to do” but can’t perform consistently, private training is usually the missing link.

Who This Is For

New shooters

  • Safe handling, loading/unloading, and range confidence

  • Fundamentals explained clearly (not rushed)

  • Step-by-step progression so you don’t build bad habits

CCW applicants

  • Shooting standards and what they really require

  • Practical accuracy improvement (not just “slow fire”)

  • Coaching on consistent hits with your actual carry gun

  • Confidence under time and evaluation pressure

Intermediate to advanced shooters

  • Draw to first shot consistency

  • Recoil control + faster follow-up shots

  • Efficient target transitions

  • Shooting on the move (where appropriate)

  • Performance tracking so you can measure improvement

People returning after time off

  • Refresh fundamentals and rebuild confidence safely

  • Get back to where you were—then surpass it

What We Can Work On (Pick the Skills That Matter Most)

Your lesson can focus on one area or combine several. Common training blocks include:

Fundamentals that drive accuracy

  • Grip structure that holds under recoil

  • Trigger control that works at speed

  • Sight/optic tracking and visual patience

  • Calling shots and correcting misses intelligently

Defensive pistol performance

  • Draw stroke mechanics (safe, efficient, repeatable)

  • First-shot speed without sacrificing hits

  • Follow-up shots (recoil control, cadence, timing)

  • Reloads and malfunction management

  • Movement basics and use of available cover (range permitting)

CCW-relevant performance

  • Practical hits on realistic target zones

  • Consistency with your carry setup

  • Managing nerves and “test pressure”

  • Simple, repeatable methods you can trust

Gear and setup

  • Holster fit and placement

  • Belt setup and concealment comfort

  • Optics, iron sights, lights—how to run what you have

  • What to change (and what not to) based on performance

How a Private Lesson Works

1) Quick intake + goals
We start by identifying your goal (CCW qualification confidence, better accuracy, faster performance, etc.) and what you’ve tried already.

2) Baseline assessment
We watch you shoot and handle the firearm. This is where we find what’s actually happening—not what you think is happening.

3) Fix the root causes
We make corrections in small steps so the changes stick. You’ll understand what you’re doing and why it works.

4) Pressure-proof the skill
Once it looks good slow, we build it into something you can do reliably—through structured drills and realistic pace.

5) Take-home plan
You’ll leave with a short list of drills and a practice schedule you can maintain (including dry practice options if you can’t get to the range often).

What to Bring

Bring what you already own—we’ll work with it.

Recommended

  • Your firearm (pistol; shotgun if that’s the focus and the range allows it)

  • 2–3 magazines (more is helpful)

  • 250 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye/ear protection

  • Range-appropriate clothing

  • Note app or small notebook (you’ll want to remember the drills)

If working from concealment

  • Your concealment holster (quality, rigid, covers trigger guard)

  • Sturdy belt

  • Cover garment (what you actually wear)

If you’re not sure if your holster/setup is appropriate, tell us what you have and we’ll help you avoid common mistakes.

Safety Standards (Non-Negotiable)

Private training is still training. We keep it safe, structured, and professional.

  • Muzzle discipline and trigger discipline are enforced

  • Drills progress only when safety and control are solid

  • If something is unsafe, we stop and fix it immediately

This is how you build real confidence—because your foundation is correct.

Results You Should Expect

Private training doesn’t promise “overnight mastery.” What it does offer is rapid clarity and efficient improvement.

Most students see:

  • Tighter groups through better grip/trigger control

  • Fewer “mystery misses” because you learn to call shots

  • Faster follow-up shots because recoil control becomes repeatable

  • Higher confidence because you understand what to do under pressure

If you’re preparing for CCW qualification, private training can help you show up ready—not hoping it goes well.

Scheduling + Options

We offer private coaching options based on your goals:

  • Single-session tune-up (fix one major problem fast)

  • Skill-builder sessions (stack progress over multiple lessons)

  • Pre-qualification prep (for CCW applicants who want confidence)

If you tell us your goal and current experience level, we’ll recommend a simple path that fits.
