California Conceal Carry

We are SB2 compliant and DOJ CCW Certified. The California CCW training is designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of the attitude, skills, and knowledge necessary to prepare them for the unexpected encounter for which they might find themselves. This firearms course was designed for the beginner to advanced shooter who is looking to gain the necessary skills to safely protect themselves.

California CCW Training Course

Our California CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) courses provide the skills, knowledge, and legal foundation required to carry a firearm responsibly.

We customize the course content to meet the needs of each class, but every session covers core defensive topics to help you build competence and confidence.


What We Cover in the CCW Course

While we adjust topics to fit each group, your training will include:

  • California laws on the use of deadly force

  • Legal responsibilities
  • Firearm safety in the home, vehicle, and public
  • Understanding pistol parts and selecting the right handgun for defense

  • Ammunition types and choosing defensive loads

  • Basic defensive shooting techniques

  • Drawing from concealment

  • Reloading and clearing malfunctions

  • Developing a defensive mindset and situational awareness

  • Concealed carry methods and gear selection

  • A firearms qualification course to demonstrate your skill


Course Options

🔄 8-Hour Renewal Course

Ideal for: CCW permit renewals
Approved by: Multiple issuing authorities in California

  • ~4 hours of classroom training

  • ~4 hours of live-fire range training (varies based on class size and skill level)

  • Cost: $250


🆕 16-Hour Initial Applicant Course

Ideal for: First-time applicants
Approved by: Most California counties and cities

  • ~8 hours of classroom training

  • ~8 hours of live-fire drills, including drawing from a holster

  • More in-depth range instruction over two days

  • Cost: $400

Be sure to verify your required course length with your issuing authority before enrolling.


What to Bring

You must bring the following to class:

  • Valid California Driver’s License or ID

  • All handguns you want listed on your permit
    (No additional charge for qualifying with multiple guns. Must be registered to you in California.)

  • At least 2 magazines per semiauto or 1 speed loader per revolver

  • 350 rounds for your main training handgun

    • 50 rounds per additional handgun for qualification

  • Wraparound eye protection and electronic hearing protection
    (We recommend Howard Leight Impact Sport headphones)

  • Notebook and pen (black ink)

  • Baseball cap or visor

  • Sack lunch and hydration

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • No low-cut tops

đź”’ Do not bring any ammunition into the classroom. Leave it in your vehicle until range time.

All firearms must arrive unloaded and locked in a case.


Important Notes

  • You must start your CCW application process before beginning this training.

  • Each city or county has different policies on when you may start training. Contact your issuing authority to confirm.

  • The Sheriff or issuing agency follows strict guidelines during the background check and interview phase. Be prepared for a wait time of several weeks to months.

Results-Oriented Range Instruction

You won’t just stand and shoot. Our instructors watch every rep, diagnose problem areas, and explain what to change. We use targeted live-fire drills to close gaps fast—helping you move from “hits somewhere” to accurate, repeatable marksmanship.

CCW Class Rescheduling and Refunds

We rely on accurate attendance to organize class sizes, instructor staffing, and training materials. Please only register if you are confident in your availability. Refunds are not offered. However, if you let us know at least 24 hours before your class, we will allow you to reschedule once to another date. If we cancel a class, you’ll be given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. Keep in mind: Participation in the course does not guarantee you will receive a concealed carry permit from California or other states.
