CALIFORNIA CCW RENEWAL TRAINING

We are SB2 compliant and DOJ CCW Certified. The California CCW training is designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of the attitude, skills, and knowledge necessary to prepare them for the unexpected encounter for which they might find themselves. This firearms course was designed for the beginner to advanced shooter who is looking to gain the necessary skills to safely protect themselves.

Renewing a California concealed carry permit is not just an administrative requirement. It is an opportunity—and a responsibility—to confirm that your skills, judgment, and understanding of the law remain current.

The CCW Renewal Training Course at 2A Firearms Academy is designed for existing permit holders who need to complete renewal training and live-fire requalification in accordance with issuing-authority requirements. This course reinforces responsible carry principles while meeting all renewal standards.

Who This Course Is For

This course is intended for:

  • Current California CCW permit holders nearing expiration

  • Permit holders renewing through a county sheriff or city police department

  • Individuals who want structured, compliant renewal training

This course assumes prior CCW experience. It is not designed for first-time applicants.

Renewal Training vs Initial Training

Renewal training differs from initial training in both structure and purpose.

Initial training focuses on:

  • Foundational legal education

  • Introduction to use-of-force concepts

  • First-time qualification

Renewal training focuses on:

  • Skill confirmation

  • Legal mindset refresh

  • Requalification standards

This course is efficient, but not rushed.

Legal Review & Carry Responsibilities

The classroom portion includes a focused review of:

  • Self-defense principles under California law

  • Carry restrictions and prohibited locations

  • Decision-making responsibilities for armed citizens

  • Why “nothing happened” can still become a legal issue

CCW Class Rescheduling and Refunds

We rely on accurate attendance to organize class sizes, instructor staffing, and training materials. Please only register if you are confident in your availability. Refunds are not offered. However, if you let us know at least 24 hours before your class, we will allow you to reschedule once to another date. If we cancel a class, you’ll be given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. Keep in mind: Participation in the course does not guarantee you will receive a concealed carry permit from California or other states.
