Antioch CCW Training

2A Firearms Academy is proud to be an officially authorized CCW training provider approved by the Antioch Police Department. Whether you're applying for your first concealed carry license or renewing an existing permit in Antioch, our certified instructors provide the professional, department-approved training needed to meet all local requirements with confidence.

Our Antioch CCW course is approved for those applying through the Antioch Police Department. It is designed to help students build confidence, competence, and legal understanding for safely carrying a concealed firearm. This course meets the 16-hour training requirement set by the Antioch Police Department.

The following topics will be covered in the CCW class, but this is not a comprehensive list as we do our best to tailor the class topics to the needs of the given audience participants.

  • Laws concerning firearms possession, storage, etc.
  • Firearm safety rules
  • Fundamentals of shooting
  • Loading and unloading procedures
  • Clearing stoppages
  • Firearm and holster selection
  • Firearms qualification course

This is not an introductory course. Prior experience handling and operating your firearm is expected. If you’re not yet comfortable with your firearm, contact us to arrange a beginner-level class before registering.

16-Hour Initial CCW

The training is approximately 8 hours of classroom work and 8 hours of range time. The time will vary depending on number of students and their ability.  Classes of less than 6 participants will be rescheduled to the next class date.

Cost: $400 + Range Fees

Range fees are $50 per student.  Includes targets, and training completion certificate, copy of The Law of Self Defense (by Andrew Branca.) No extra charge if qualifying with multiple firearms.

What to Bring

Please Bring the following items to class:

  • Valid California DMV issued driver’s license or ID
  • Handgun(s)- Revolver or semiautomatic (full-size or compact).  You will need one main training gun, and you must bring all guns with you to both days of class that you want to put on your permit.  There is no additional charge for qualifying with multiple guns.  The State of California requires that the guns you list on your permit be registered to you with the State.
  • Two magazines or one speed-loader (if revolver) for each gun.
  • Strong-side Outside-the-Waistband (OWB) KYDEX belt holster (note:  we recommend holsters that are friction fit, molded KYDEX.  No Blackhawk Serpas allowed.)  No Inside-the-waistband (IWB) holsters.
  • Twin magazine belt carrier or speed loader pouches if revolver is used
  • Pants with belt loops.  Tactical pants with thigh pockets for extra ammo preferred but not required.
  • Ammunition – 350 rounds for main training gun, plus an additional 18 rounds for each additional gun you wish to shoot for qualification testing.
  • Wrap-around eye and electronic hearing protection. (Electronic ear protection required.)
    • We recommend Howard Leight Impact Sport amplified headphones.
  • Notepad and pen (black ink)
  • Baseball cap or visor
  • Sack lunch and personal hydration
  • Closed toe shoes
  • No low-cut necklines please.

You must bring ALL guns and equipment listed above to class.

Please do not bring any ammunition into the classroom. Handguns must be unloaded and cased.

DO NOT BRING ANY AMMO INTO THE CLASSROOM – LEAVE IT IN YOUR VEHICLE TRUNK!
