Our CCW Training approach

Albany CCW Training

Students receive hands-on instruction in both classroom and live-fire settings to identify weaknesses. Instructors guide them through drills aimed at turning those weaknesses into strengths for precision shooting.

Our Albany Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) course is built to prepare responsible gun owners with the mindset, skills, and knowledge needed to handle an unexpected defensive encounter. Whether you’re new to concealed carry or an experienced shooter seeking to meet the Albany Police Department’s training requirement, this course fulfills the California-mandated 16-hour initial training.

The following topics will be covered in the CCW class, but this is not a comprehensive list as we do our best to tailor the class topics to the needs of the given audience participants.

  • Laws concerning firearms possession, storage, etc.
  • Firearm safety rules
  • Fundamentals of shooting
  • Loading and unloading procedures
  • Clearing stoppages
  • Firearm and holster selection
  • Firearms qualification course

This course is not intended for complete beginners. Students are expected to have a working knowledge of their firearm before attending. If you’re new to pistol shooting, let us know—we’ll schedule a beginner session to get you ready.

16-Hour Initial CCW

The training is approximately 8 hours of classroom work and 8 hours of range time. The time will vary depending on number of students and their ability.  Classes of less than 6 participants will be rescheduled to the next class date.

Cost: $400 + Range Fees

Range fees are $50 per student.  Includes targets, and training completion certificate, copy of The Law of Self Defense (by Andrew Branca.) No extra charge if qualifying with multiple firearms.
